hinese and Singaporean universities occupy the highest spots in a ranking of Asia's top 100 universities, a global survey showed Wednesday.
According to the Times Higher Education Asia Rankings, China led the way with Tsinghua University in first place and Peking University in second, followed by the National University of Singapore. The University of Tokyo was ranked the highest Japanese university and came seventh, up one notch from a year earlier.
Asian universities are expected to rise in international rankings as promising students enroll in their respective countries rather than studying abroad amid the spread of the novel coronavirus, the report said.
